BOOKS 2015

They were doing a baby shower with a "books for babies" theme. I did 4 little 6" cakes and decorated them like books. "If you give a Mouse a Cookie" was the main book they were using so I stacked the book on top of the other 3. The mouse and the Cat in the Hat were laminated plastic pictures the rest of the cake was done with butter cream frosting. The puppy dog and bunny were molded fondant.

55 birthday cake in 2015

So what kind of cake does this cake maker have for her birthday! German chocolate is my favorite (my grandma always made it for me). Not much into decorated cakes but I thought we should make note of this mile marker! And it has to be homemade coconut pecan frosting - After I found this recipe I can't eat store bought frosting.  I also made pineapple upside down cake - it is my other favorite and I couldn't decide.... so I had lots of extra cake to share with my friends at work!

Buddy 2015

BUDDY loves Curious George so I just had to make a George cake! He loved it!

dakotta 2014

Dakotta wanted a hockey cake this year. His mom bought the plastic figurines somewhere on line

Sklyar 2014

My niece Skylar said she wanted her cake green with black tiger stripes and she would leave the rest up to me. Well she loved this birthday cake! Butter cream frosting with fondant stripes and silk flowers.

Saber #14

My granddaughter plays viola and piano so I wanted to highlighter her talents with her birthday cake.
The piano key board, viola and bow are formed from fondant. I adder her favorite color Purple silk flowers and hand drawn music staff and notes. Using the treble cleft as the S in her name. Sheet music on the cake board under the cake. She loved it.
