Poster

my friend James is working on some new posters and business cards for me.

Dave & Dustin

Hard to believe my son David is 35. I have been decorating cakes since he was 2.  He is into his paintball business so I wanted to do something that was unique for him. The gun was cut out of fondant using some pictures I got off the internet.

David and Dustin own the T.E. Paintball Business. Their birthdays are pretty close together so we did this tiger camouflage cake for Dustin's birthday. Note the fabric sample at the top that Dave gave me so I could get it right.

MARY - MAY 2014

CMR GRADUATION 2014

HEAVEN'S 18TH BIRTHDAY PARTY AND GRADUATION FELL ON THE SAME WEEKEND.
She is a Marilyn Monroe fan so I did these edible images and attached them with fondant to make them look look a film strip.

Heaven's sister Faith had a 16th birthday the same weekend.
This was a lot of cake (over 19 cake mixes)  for one family to eat in one weekend and quite the challenge for this cake decorator!

Kris 2014

Kris's daughter turned 18 and graduated the same weekend. The books were her graduation cake and the Dr. Suess "Oh The places you'll go" birthday cake fit right in to the party!

Camryn #9

My grandson likes this Wrestler so I tried to get the guy on the cake. I had edible images made that I just put on the cake. The round cake is an ice cream cake. Camryn asked if I knew how to make ice cream cakes, to which, I replied " no I don't".  He said "well you better figure it out."  So I did!

Leslie 6-14

Simple elegance with silver accents

Kelli Heath

This may have been my favorite cake of the summer. Kelli was doing a western wedding theme. They made the rope wrapped cake base and had brands burned into the base. Her father made the leather belt that is around the base of the cake with their initials on it. The boots, as separators, really added to this cake  with the horse cake top.

Courtney

Courtney's dad is my computer geek! I made this princess cake for her birthday because her dad has been so helpful to me

Scott & Jackie

Scott & Jackie had a outdoors theme going on for their wedding. Scott made the cake topper with a wood burning set. I tried to put rings on the top of the cake to resemble the rings of the tree. They wanted the cake to wood like a tree stump.  It looked OK at my house but it looked better when they set it up at the reception and trimmed it with pine bows and cones.

Jerry & Amanda

Jerry and Amanda wanted their cake to represent the blending of their two lives. Purples accents on the left  and the Blue accents on the right merged in the middle. The fern greenery with blue and purple babies breath  joined behind the bride and groom. Note there are small pink ribbons attached as our bride is battling cancer!

Tonya 6/26/14

This was Tonya's wedding cake Friday night. They were doing a red neck thing - hence the pick-up on the grooms cake throwing mud on the wedding cakes.

Saturday when I went to deliver the cake, it fell over in the back of my car. I turned around and went home and literally rebuilt the cake in less than an hour. Because layer #3 fell apart it became a 3 layer cake. However, this provided an opportunity for the bride and groom, that I made out of fondant, to sit on the cake.  ( there wasn't room enough for them before!) I don't mind telling you that I make mistakes!  Fortunately this was my daughters cake so I knew she would not be upset that something went wrong. And as my mother said the real talent is being able to fix your mistakes without anyone knowing you goofed up.

Tonya was using all the colors in the rainbow for a happy cheery wedding. She was expecting a white wedding cake. I surprised her by making the inside of the cake tie-dyed colors.
Had to do something creative for the grooms cake so I did chocolate and white checkerboard. It was a lot of work but it was fun to surprise the kids.

When I cut the cake the table looked like a rainbow exploded on the table!

Kelsie

Kelsie traded her sheriff uniform in for a Bridal gown. Fresh flowers with a few edible silver bead made this cake simple and elegant.

Baby pink

A baby girl shower. Cupcakes for 40 Pink & white swirl butter cream frosting with edible pearl beads and baby pacifiers as accents

Lady bug

This lady bug cake with a lady bug smash cake for Lillies 1st birthday was a fun cake to do.

Summer 2014

It has been a busy summer so I'll try to catch up with the pictures.
I have been getting a lot of phone calls from people that see my blog posting.
I am happy that you are seeing this out on the Web and I look forward to helping you to get a cake for your special occasion, (weddings, birthday, anniversaries or whatever) - but please remember I do work a full time job so I need to have ample notice to do a cake for you.
