In 1986 I made the top rifle cake for my husbands birthday. This year I asked my 39 year old son that kind of cake he wanted and he said "you know I like guns". I though about the cake I had done for his dad (30th birthday) so I thought I'd try to make another gun cake. I obtained one of Dave's guns (actually he inherited this gun from his Grandfather) to use for a life size pattern. It is a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and Black & gray fondant accents. I couldn't make the cake smaller so that it matched the actual gun or there wouldn't be much cake to eat. He will be surprised. Pretty proud of myself my skills have improved over the last 30 years!
